January 2026 AI Receptionist updates with unified activity feed and SMS chat capabilities

We've been hard at work making your AI Receptionist more useful! This update brings a unified activity feed, SMS chat capabilities, custom call legal disclosures, and expanded plan features. Here's what's new:

New Unified Activity Feed

Your call dashboard has been replaced with a unified activity feed, making way for more communication channels. The activity feed now shows calls, SMS, and messages in one place, giving you a complete view of all your customer interactions without switching between different sections.

SMS Chat Agent

Your AI Receptionist can now SMS chat with callers directly! This new feature is enabled by default, but you can enable/disable it on your main dashboard page. This means your customers can reach you through text messages, and your AI will handle those conversations just as intelligently as it handles phone calls.

Custom Legal Disclosure

You can now set your own custom disclosure message. The disclosure is required by law to inform your callers that the call is recorded and that they are speaking with an AI. Now you can get creative with your disclosure, integrating it seamlessly into how your AI Receptionist answers calls. Make it friendly, professional, or perfectly aligned with your brand voice.

Expanded Plan Features

In addition to voice minutes, all plans now include transfer minutes, SMS, and MMS. You have more ways than ever to connect with your customers across multiple communication channels. Whether they prefer calling, texting, or sending images, your AI Receptionist can handle it all.

Booster Packs for Plan Overages

If you surpass your plan limits (we let you know if you are getting close), we now offer a generic "booster pack" credit system that handles over-plan allocations. Voice minutes are industry-leading 25¢ per minute while call transfer minutes, SMS and MMS are determined by country and number and are displayed transparently on your dashboard's contact information when you configure them.

Essential Plan Upgrade

The Essential plan now includes access to all 10 AI voices plus the "text" knowledge base type. More features, same price!

Solopreneur Plan Upgrade

The Solopreneur plan now has full knowledge base access including FAQ, text, documents, and URLs. Build a smarter AI without upgrading!

MMS Image Understanding

Voice and SMS agents can now fully analyze images sent via MMS, allowing your AI Receptionist to help your customers by understanding what they are seeing. If an image is sent via MMS during a voice call, the voice agent will analyze it. Otherwise, the SMS agent will handle it. This opens up new possibilities for customer support, product inquiries, and more.
